The Old Capitol Grill & Smokehouse was rebranded to better reflect the rich history of the building and promote the expanded menu of smoked meats and classic American fare with unique twists.
Conveying the governmental history associated with the building along with the “uniquely Colorado restaurant/bar experience” was important to communicate in all aspects of the branding process. Built in 1863, with additions in the mid-1860s, this was the original Colorado Capitol Building. Colorado’s territorial legislature met in this building and helped shape the territory into what would become the country’s 38thstate in 1876.
